The minutes of the previous meeting 1st May 2009, held at the Albert hall, Ballater were approved subject to amendments to show Gregor Rimell left the meeting at lunchtime, Inclusion of point 57. g) to include an easy read option as suggested by Eric Baird and AOB to include suggestion from Susan Walker on behalf of Eric Baird regarding consultation response protocol within reports. 4. In the light of this combination of factors the proposal raises issues of general significance for the collective aims of the Cairngorms National Park. 21. 09/141/CP -No Call-in COMMENTING ON APPLICATIONS NOT CALLED-IN BY THE COMMITTEE 22. The Members wished to make comments to the Local Authorities on the following Planning Application No’s 09/127/CP, 09/128/CP, 09/130/CP, 09/138/CP & 09/139/CP. The planning officers noted these comments and were delegated with the responsibility of whether or not to submit the comments to the Local Authorities. AGENDA ITEM 6: ANY OTHER BUSINESS 23. Duncan Bryden discussed the Scottish Government Appeal Decision Notice and letter circulated to members for The Shelterstone application in Aviemore (08/406/CP) advising them the appeal had been dismissed and planning permission refused and took the opportunity to thank the CNP Planning Officers. 24. Duncan Bryden reminded members of the e-mail sent to members on the 12th May 09 from Robert Grant (Planning Officer), about the in-house workshop programme provided by the Scottish Government's Improvement Service intended to provide planning authority staff and board members with planning responsibilities the opportunity to develop an understanding and knowledge of the planning systems role in responding to climate change and promoting sustainable development. All workshops are interactive and incorporate activities, encourage debate and use real examples -they may provide useful insight into the challenges the CNPA have in implementing the policies, processes and tools including the Sustainable Design Guide. The 3 workshops are: • Delivering Greater Sustainable Development through Planning (developed by Thirdwave) • Energy Efficiency and Low Carbon Development (developed by EDAW with Faber Maunsell) • Sustainable Buildings and Places (developed by EDAW with Faber Maunsell) Members were asked to declare any interest in this with a view to bringing the workshops forward if sufficient numbers are available, between 7-10 members showed interest in each group and asked if all 3 workshops could be combined into one. 25. Duncan Bryden discussed and summarised the Local Plan Inquiry timetable with members and circulated the timetable asking members to initial the sessions they wished to attend in order to pass to Clive Dennier (CNPA Press Officer) for reference. AGENDA ITEM 7: DATE OF NEXT MEETING 26. Friday 10.30am, 29th May 2009 at the Lecht Ski Centre. 27. Committee Members are requested to ensure that any Apologies for this meeting are submitted to the Planning Office in Ballater. 28. The meeting concluded at 11:30hrs.
